Nebraska Choral
Conductor, Bel Canto
Dr. Sean Burton is in his third year as Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa and his fourth year as Conductor of the Nebraska Children's Chorus Bel Canto.
Choirs under his direction have performed throughout North America, Latin America and Europe, singing in some of the world's most recognized cultural and historic epicenters, and have been selected for performance at state, regional and national conventions of MENC: the National Association for Music Education.
A nationally recognized scholar, he has presented at national conferences of the American Choral Directors Association and College Music Society and is the author of one book and more than thirty articles, reviews and editions of choral music.
Known for his versatility, future guest conducting engagements range from a Pops Concert in collaboration with Dionne Warwick with the Springfield (MA) Symphony Orchestra to the 2010 Alaska All-State Treble Choir.
