Cantori

Cantori is the second of two advanced choirs within the Nebraska Children’s Chorus organization. Comprised of students from grades 5-10, these singers represent school districts in the greater-Omaha area, including western Iowa.

Cantori performed David Fanshawe’s "African Sanctus" under the direction of Sir David Willcocks, and John Rutter’s "Mass for the Children" with Dr. Greg Zielke directing the Omaha Symphonic Chorus. Cantori has participated in festivals and received accolades in Des Moines (under the direction of Mary Goetze), Eugene, Oregon (under the direction of Henry Leck), San Francisco, California (under the direction of Rebecca Rottsolk), and the North Carolina Summer Institue in Choral Art (under the direction of Lynne Gackle and Rollo Dilworth) . On their summer tours, they have sung with other children’s choruses in Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Oregon, Kansas, Missouri, Wisconsin, Michigan, Wyoming and California. They have been selected by audition to sing for the Nebraska Music Educators as well as the regional organization of the American Choral Directors Association. In June of 2008, Cantori will travel to Chicago to sing in Orchestra Hall under the direction of Maestros Emily Ellsworth and Rollo Dilworth.
