Nebraska Choral

Cantori is one of two advanced choirs within the Nebraska Choral Arts Society. Comprised of students from grades 5-10, these singers represent school districts in the greater-Omaha area, including western Iowa.
Most recently in June of 2008, Cantori travelled to Chicago to sing in Orchestra Hall under the direction of Maestros Emily Ellsworth and Rollo Dilworth. Cantori also has performed David Fanshawe’s "African Sanctus" under the direction of Sir David Willcocks, and John Rutter’s "Mass for the Children" with Dr. Greg Zielke directing the Omaha Symphonic Chorus. Cantori has participated in festivals and received accolades in Des Moines (under the direction of Mary Goetze), Eugene, Oregon (under the direction of Henry Leck), San Francisco, California (under the direction of Rebecca Rottsolk), and the North Carolina Summer Institute in Choral Art (under the direction of Lynne Gackle and Jeffrey Ames) . On their summer tours, they have sung with other children’s choruses in Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Oregon, Kansas, Missouri, Wisconsin, Michigan, Wyoming, Illinois, and California. They have been selected by audition to sing for the Nebraska Music Educators as well as the regional organization of the American Choral Directors Association.
