Kat Doebel

Director, CAST

Originally from Chicago, Kathleen Doebel now proudly calls Omaha home. She has been the vocal music director for Gross Catholic High School in Bellevue since 1992.

Earning a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, she had the privilege of singing in multiple choirs under the direction of the legendary conductor Harold Decker. While in Urbana, she studied conducting with William Olson and Jerry Jordan and studied voice with Bill Miller.

After moving to Omaha, Kat completed her Masters degree in Music Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Choirs under her direction consistently receive superior ratings at local and national festivals.

Kat has a unique perspective of NCAS/NCC as she has been on all sides of the conductor's podium. All three of her children have moved through the ranks of NCC, participating in each of the choirs. She continues to feed her passion for singing as a member of Masterworks. Kat joined the artistic staff in 2003 as conductor of C.A.S.T.
